Autobidder Help & Strategy

What is the Autobidder?

Autobidder is a feature that allows you to bid on items that interest you without being present to click the "bid" button. You simply set the highest amount you are willing to bid for an item and the amount of bids you willing to use to attempt to win the item.

When does the Autobidder begin bidding for me?

The Autobidder is activated to bid only in the final 30 seconds of an auction.

What if a bid price is higher than my maximum price settings?

If an auction's bid price exceeds your maximum price before the final 30 seconds begins, the Autobidder will not place bids on your behalf. If the Autobidder bids for an item on your behalf during the final 30 seconds, and bid price reaches your maximum bid price, the Autobidder will cease operation.

When can input and update my Autobidder settings?

You can input, setup, or update your bid price or quantity of bids that you wish to use at any time before the auction is "closed."

Can I update my initial settings?

Yes, you can update your settings by simply increasing or decreasing your maximum bid price and maximum bids to use, and clicking the "Update" button.

Why are my Autobidder bids decreasing?

Every time an automated bid is used, your Autobidder's bid quantity is decreased automatically along with your account's bids. This allows you to see how many bids you have remaining to try and win the auction.

Do I have to have bids in my account to use the Autobidder feature?

Yes, in order for you to use the Autobidder, you must have bids in your account, or the system will not work. If you have fewer account bids than the bids you allocated for the Autobidder to use, the Autobidder will use all of your remaining account bids to attempt a win.

Can I press the bid button while the Autobidder is activated?

You can press the "bid" button at anytime, even if the Autobidder is set or actively bidding. In fact, you can press the "bid" as many times as you would like, even if you are the current high bidder.

Is there a strategy for using the Autobidder?

The best Autobidder strategy is to set the absolute highest maximum you are willing to pay for an item and how many bids you are willing to use get it. More is better, for both settings. The Autobidder starts with bidders who have lower maximum bid prices and works it way to the higher bid settings. Lower bid price setting, basically waste bids. If two bidders have the same maximum bid price settings, it is the bidder who has the most bids allocated who will win the auction. If one bidder has a maximum bid of $5.00 and another has a maximum bid of $6.00, the bidder with the maximum bid of $6.00 will be the winner, with a winning bid of $5.01. Because the $5.00 bidder's Autobidder did not continue to bid after reaching it set maximum price. Be aware, other bidders can increase their settings in the final 30 second time period, or simply press the "bid" button.

The Autobidder feature should be used only as a last resort, specifically, if you cannot be in front of the computer to press the "bid" button yourself.
